Week 44 of 2018 Reading Challenge 'A book set in the middle east'
The first thing that came to mind, when asked to choose a book set in the middle east, was war. Fiction or non-fiction, it doesn’t exactly give me the warm and fuzzie's, so I went with something a little bit more fun.
He’ll do anything to protect his kingdom... Even blackmail her into marriage!
Sheikh Karim is as ruthless as the harsh desert that forged him. Entertaining bubbly Princess Galila at a royal wedding seems frivolous...until she reveals his family’s darkest secret. To protect their honour, Karim must seduce Galila into silence! The raw heat of their encounter stuns him...and inspires a more permanent solution. To prevent a scandal, Karim will make impetuous Galila his convenient bride!
I am far from being a Mills and Boon virgin, but Dani Collins is certainly new to my bookshelf. Her latest release is the third installment from the ‘Bound to the Desert King’ series. I, however, read it as a standalone without any issues.
Firstly, I'm busting at the seams to rave on and on about Dani’s writing. From the very first page, I envied her ability to write so effortlessly. Romance exists on almost every page, and not just in the story line, but also in the beautiful descriptions and wording.
I've been lucky this month, stumbling across multiple books that contain strong women. Despite her weaknesses and turmoil, Princess Galila comes across as independent, strong-willed and a force to be reckoned with.
The chemistry between the pair is undeniable. Karim's intention may have been to seduce and silence Galila, but I knew from their very first encounter that he would not succeed.
My only complaint, it has an abrupt ending. I'm wondering if Galila and Karim’s story carries over into the next book in the series.
Are you familiar with Dani Collins? I've been left craving to read her other works.
